Having played Darlington at Bishop Auckland’s ground, Heritage Park, in early September, the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round draw pitched us against the Quaker’s landlords 5 weeks later. The record bboks showed that there had been a previous encounter, (56 years previously in the FA Cup 2nd Round), with that going County’s way by 2-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was exactly the same this time round. Danny Lloyd had picked up 6 goals since his move from Fylde in the summer and added two more. It was clear that despite the result the travelling fans from the north-east had a decent day out. The reward was a 1st Round tie, (the first time that County had reached that stage since 2012\/13), against Conference outfit Woking. That tie, which ended in a 4-2 reverse, showed that gap that County would have to bridge in order to compete at the higher level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
