With only seven games for me before the lockdown this list is of course short. But there were signs of things to come. The takeover of the Club by Mark Stott in January 2020 brought to an end what seemed an interminable period when the owners who took us into 2020 finally found someone who they could trust to take the Club forward positively.

And there were statements of intent straight away. Danny Lloyd came back on loan from League 2 Salford, and was promptly followed by two permanent signings, also from Moor Lane. Lois Maynard injured himself on his debut at Dagenham so I didn’t manage to see him, but the second incomer, Liam Hogan, looked to be a real capture.

I look forward to seeing how the team develops once things return to normal. After a truly dismal 8 years after winning promotion in 2008 Jim Gannon returned and there was noticeable progress by the month. I believe that the 2020’s will see better times and hopefully a return to League status.
