OTHER PUBLISHED WORDS

I have always enjoyed writing and continue to do so. I have been a regular correspondent for my local paper, the Tameside Reporter, concentrating on league cricket in general and Ashton CC in particular. That’s still the case.

This website is the product of stuff I’ve written subsequent to my retirement. It was a way of achieving something constructive and was originally for my own interest. The time created by my enforced “lockdown” as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic led me to make these words; thoughts and data available to the wider world.

I have, mainly in the 1990’s, written about County. it started off by contributions to the County fanzine, The Tea Party. I was a regular contributor for a significant number of its 100 issues.

In early 1997 I was asked by the TTP editor, Dave Espley to “do” the TTP contribution to the alternative review of the football season. It was published as a compendium of fanzine review of the season from clubs all over the country, and went under the name “Survival of the Fattest”. I did this twice, looking at the 1996/97 and 1998/99 seasons.

My contributions are included on this website as sub-menus to this page.
